I’m not seeing a lot about SESTA/FOSTA on my timeline so I’m trying to be the change, etc. This law is actively harming sex workers, right now, making them less safe, removing their ability to screen clients, removing their ability to network and communicate about problems, making it harder to do business in general.
I don’t care what you think about sex work in general; if you are supporting this right now you are supporting something that overwhelmingly harms women, particularly trans women and women of color.
Less important than that, but still important, is that this bill harms the internet and open access to adult content of all varieties right now. If you are for a free and open internet, if you reblogged a ton of Net Neutrality stuff but you’re not reblogging SESTA stuff, please sit back and consider the hypocrisy of that stance.
And more generally than that, this blog and this blogger support sex workers and everything they need to do to be safe, healthy, happy, and successful in their careers. If you don’t agree, there’s the door. Do not demonize these folks to me. I won’t listen.
